MEET DIANE WINBUSH

Meet Diane Winbush - Owner and Founder of EPIC Event Strategists Wedding Planner and Event Designer.  Diane is the creative force behind most of the designs that are created.  Diane and Anecia create fairy-tale ambiances with unique themes and centerpieces and designs to offset the room.

1. Female African American Small Event Business Owner:  Diane was born in Alabama and at the age of 7 she moved to Chicago, Illinois.  She worked very hard at getting her bachelors degree in Organizational Management and further continued her education to receive her Masters in Management Degree.  “Entrepreneurship is a state of mind, a can-do attitude, a capacity to focus on a vision and work toward it.” ~Barry Rogstad

2. Background as an Event Planner:  After working in the Corporate world and not being able to utilize her creativity for several years, Diane realized that she was passionate about utilizing her creative side as a planner and designer for weddings and other events.  She has her event certifications from Correlation LLC, International Wedding and Event Design School, and the Akeshi Akinseye’s Creatives Corner Mentorship Program.   “To create something exceptional, your mindset must be relentlessly focused on the Smallest detail.” ~Giorgio Armani 

3. Traveling the world is her greatest desire:  Diane aspire to broaden her travel horizon to explore the different beautiful sceneries in other countries and around the United States.  Learning about the foreign cultures could be adventurous and create unforgettable experiences.  “Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore” ~Andre Gide

Family Love:  Diane is so blessed to be surrounded by a loving family that support her endeavors.  She enjoy being apart of other families joy when planning their events.  It is a great feeling being the cause of their successful special day.  “Today’s little moments, become tomorrow’s precious memories”

Inspiration.  Diane’s inspiration comes from her love of nature; the sound of the ocean, the beauty of flowers, and the scenery from other states and countries.  The blooms and leaves on the trees, road trips across the states are intriguing and different.  Walking through art museums and taking riverboat historical tours, all are a breath of fresh air.  “Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.” ~Gloria Steinem

7. Relaxation. Educational Background.  With a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management from Concordia University, a Master's Degree in Management from University of Phoenix, and Certification as an Event Design from (IWED) International Wedding & Event Design located in Florida, Certification as a Wedding and Event Planner from Triton College-Lovegevity’s Wedding Planning Institute, Certification from the Event Leadership Institute in Chicago. “In a global economy where the most valuable skill you can sell is your knowledge, a good education is no longer just a pathway to opportunity - it is a prerequisite.” ~Barack Obama
